St. Catherine Labouré
Her story
Catherine was born in rural France and entered the Daughters of Charity. In 1830, as a novice in Paris, she reported apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the chapel on Rue du Bac. The visions inspired the design of the Miraculous Medal, which became a beloved sign of Marian devotion.
Why her life matters
She did not seek attention. For decades, she served the elderly and those in need. Her story reminds us that holiness does not require fame: listening to God and caring for others can transform the world.
Preparing for Confirmation? Catherine is an example of trust, quiet courage, love for Mary, and kindness toward people others may overlook.
